War
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds."
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds."
Like it or not, we are in a war
And we are either winning, or losing.
The final end of the war has already been determined.
But those in the battle are winning and losing every day.
The battle we are in is not physical, but spiritual.
So the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but spiritual.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV) 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
The nature of this war never sleeps.
Even while you are sleeping you can come under attack.
That is why we need God's Weapons of Protection, because we are vulnerable.
The sooner we find our refuge in Jesus, the sooner we can be protected and delivered.
God is available to you day and night, if you invite him in to be your protector.
But God will not violate your free will, you must invite God in, and be prepared to make room for Him, according to His Word.
If God is going to come in ... He is not going to come into your house half way.
He is going to come in all the way.
To do so, God might necessarily do some internal house cleaning,
before He will be willing to come in and abide with you, and you with Him.
For God cannot war against you and the enemy at the same time.
If you are holding onto the things of the enemy (in your own life), then you are essentially God's enemy as long as you retain your kingdom of darkness possessions.
Until you let go of all the enemy deposits in your life--You are the battleground that he must deal with first.
That means repenting of all sins, all things that kept you loyal to the devil and his demons.
Including all attitudes and thought patterns and habitual addictions.
That's where the battle begins.
The sooner we confess and repent, the sooner we can have a clean life.
The sooner we have a clean life. The sooner God can put us into service to destroying the devil's works.
But he can't go about destroying the devil's works in others through us, if the devil's works are still an operation inside of us.
See the seven sons of Seva. And how well that went with them.
Below is a full scale, picture of how spiritual warfare operates in the life of a community that was given over to Satan, but now carrying a identity in Christ. One cannot hardly miss the warfare aspect as you read below.
Acts 19:13-20 (KJV) 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. 19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
If we continue to carry the identity of the enemy, we will set ourselves up for failure in the kingdom of God.
For that would mean he would have to destroy us. We have been given free, will to choose whom we will serve.
Having a spiritual mind to understand these things, helps us identify those things that have been planted into us that are like ticking time bombs.
Once we address all our own darkness, evil, rebellion, witchcraft, every evil spirit of sexual immorality, greed, lust, spirits of power, manipulation, and demonic control, and get them permanently cleaned out of our house, then we can have power and authority over the devil to help others clear their own houses out as well.
But but until we are spiritually clean, we won't be so very useful, helping others get clean.
Any spiritual uncleanness in us, will throw confusion and darkness in our ability to see others become clean.
