One Key note about a false prophet is that he hides his true identity.
He doesn't have "False Prophet" written on his T-Shirt.
Jesus said, we will recognize a false prophet by his fruits.
That's not something you can always see right away.
Fruits sometimes take time and the right growing environments to delevop.
That's one reason Paul commanded that church leadership needed to be tested ,
before giving a leader to much authority, or power, or too much freedom--they need to be tested.
Why is that? It's possible their true nature may not have fully surfaced yet.
Think about Judas. He kept his false nature hidden for 3+ years.
So when it comes to dealing with False Prophets, and False Teachings,
The believer needs to be as wise as a serpent, and gentle as a dove.
The believer needs to know the Truth so well, that he can immediately spot a counterfeit teaching.
"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." -- Matt. 24:11
Another key thing about false prophets, is that they often follow an established pattern, a demonic playbook, over and over again. They regurgitate the same syruply liquid sewage over and over. And It always starts with breaking Jesus' Commandments.
2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be
false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and falseprophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mrk 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, ifit were possible, even the elect.
Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Act 13:6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a falseprophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many falseprophets are gone out into the world.
Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the falseprophet.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Here are regular lies we need to contend against:
1. We don't Need to Keep Jesus' Commandments. Lordship Denial
2. We don't Need to "Do" anything after Salvation. Do nothing Christianity
3. If I believe in my heart (or in my Head) -- I am saved. No Fruits. No Problem. Easy-Believe-ism
4. I can just keep on sinning until the rapture, and I'll be fine, because I believe in Jesus.
5. "Jesus knows my heart." So evidence of salvation in my actions doesn't matter.
6. "There are many ways to get to heaven."
7. "I live by the Spirit, not the Word. That's Legalism."
